Meet Recap

The Varisty Boys track team absolutely demolished the competition at the first meet of the season at 96 High school. The competition included 96, Emerald, Saluda, Abbeville, Greenwood Christian, and Dixie high schools. In the 100m dash Rayshawn Moss finished 2nd place. In the 200m dash Tydarious Floyd, Anthony Martin, and Margus Morgan took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place sweeping the top spots of the race. In the boys 400m dash Tydarious Floyd and Deontray Drennon finished 1st and 2nd respectively, and Lucas Darling won the 800m and 1600m race. In the 3200m race Devin Rosenbaum finished 3rd while William Culbreath won both the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles. The boys 4x100m relay finished 2nd which was comprised of Anthony Martin, Tydarious Floyd, Josh Watson, and Rayshawn Moss. The boys 4x400m relay finished 1st comprised of Tydarious Floyd, Anthony Martin, Marcus Morgan, and Deontray Drennon. The boys 4x800m relay finished 2nd made up of Alex Carter, Ryan Templeton, Matthew Quinn, and Ben McIntyre. In the field events Deontray Drennon finished 1st in both the high jump and the triple jump, Kevin Thomas finished 2nd in the high jump while Jay Deal finished 2nd in the long jump. Zachary Woodhurst placed 1st in the discus while Dishon Wright finished 3rd. Will Fricks finished 2nd in the pole vault.
