The Lady Eagles can’t capture shootout, lose 14-13 to Easley
Eleven hits weren’t enough for the Lady Eagles as it lost a shootout, 14-13 in seven innings, to Easley on Tuesday at Easley High School.
Iquashia Hall put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Lady Eagles. She singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the fourth and seventh innings.
I Durham got the win for Easley despite allowing 13 runs over seven innings. She struck out 11, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.
Easley’s S Patterson, B Watkins, T Crews and T Waldrop combined for 11 hits and seven RBIs.
Abigail Waters took the loss for the Lady Eagles. She lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
In the bottom of the first, Easley grabbed the early lead, 2-0. Watkins singled to ignite Easley’s offense. Easley pushed more runs across when Watkins scored on an RBI single by T Waldrop.
Easley answered the Lady Eagles’ top inning with two runs of its own in the second. Easley scored on a two-run single by Watkins.
Easley scored one run in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the seventh. In the fourth, Easley scored on an error, bringing home M Patterson.
