Tuesday’s game against Woodmont was a heartbreaker for Greenwood Eagles Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 6-3 defeat. In the top of the seventh Clark tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
In the first inning, Woodmont got their offense started when Clark doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Woodmont evened things up at three in the top of the fourth inning when Phillips doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Woodmont scored three runs in the fourth inning. Weathers and Phillips each had RBIs in the frame.
Banuelos took the win for Woodmont. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out seven.
Braylon Barbour took the loss for Greenwood Eagles Varsity. He lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out seven.
Trey Taylor, Graham Peeler, Wells Gunter, Adam Clinemyer, and TJ Aiken each collected one hit to lead Greenwood Eagles Varsity.
Clark led Woodmont with two hits in two at bats.
