Wrestlers; Anderson and Williams break GHS records and bring back the GOLD

Carter Anderson brought home a gold metal on Saturday along with the state title at 106 pounds in 5A. This is the first state championship won by a Greenwood High Wrestler since 2015 when Steven Crowder won at 160 pounds. Anderson went 54-0 on the year and capped his junior year with 131 total wins.

North-South All-Star – Jaqion Williams

Greenwood High School would like to congratulate Jaqion Williams on his selection to the North/South All-Star wrestling team. Jaqion has had an outstanding wrestling career at Greenwood High School, where he has broken many records in his four years as a varsity starter. GHS Wrestlers Qualify for State Wrestling Tournament

Two Greenwood Eagle Wrestlers placed at 5A Upper-State Championship at Laurens High School on Saturday, February 16th.  Placing 1st-4th in this tournament qualifies a spot for wrestlers to compete in the 5A State Championships to be held in Anderson, February 22nd & 23rd.  Carter Anderson was able to pin and decision his first two opponents

Grayson Brandt Selected for North / South Wrestling All Star Match

Greenwood High School would like to recognize Grayson Brandt for making the North/South All-Star Wrestling Match hosted by the South Carolina Wrestling Coaches Association.  Grayson was selected by the 5A North Coaches to compete in Myrtle Beach next week against some of the top wrestlers in the state.  Grayson has had a great four years
